Father-Son Moment

I had my first father-son moment last night. We were at the Tjans having dinner and when Ariella opened the door to greet us Bruce immediately froze and buried his face into my knees. He has never acted that way ever. He continued in this manner as we said hello to everyone constantly hiding his face and throwing a fit whenever I try to separate from him. After a length of time I walked him outside and asked him what was wrong.
“Take what’s wrong? Why are you a thing this way. Are you scared?”
He nods.
“Why are you scared?”
“Scared of Ariella.”
“Why are you scared of Ariella? She wants to play with you.”
“Take doesn’t want to goto house.”
“Bruce it is okay. You gotta be strong and not be nervous. There are gonna be things in your life that are gonna make you feel this way which is normal but the part you have to practice is not letting it get in the way of you doing things and overcome it.”
I am pretty sure he got 0% of that but he understood the tone of what I was saying. Eventually we went back inside and slowly and surely he was able to relax and play as he usually does. It was just one of those self-realization moments I had as a father where I felt that Bruce needed advice that only I could give him with feelings he never felt before.
I am no longer in high school. That moment we had had just pushed me even more to lead by example and really show Bruce how to make this world my bitch.
